Cusco
Upon arrival in the ancient Inca capital, transfer to the hotel and welcome coca tea to help with acclimatization at 3,400 meters.
Cusco Walking Tour
In the afternoon, we take a walking tour of the main Plaza and nearby streets to glimpse Cusco’s Inca layout, palaces, and surviving remains.
Amaru Village
We depart at 08:00 for Amaru Village, where we are welcomed with traditional music and flowers. The community introduces its textile techniques, natural dyes, and the symbolism of its designs. We also take part in activities such as shearing, cleaning, coiling, and dyeing wool.
Ollantaytambo
After a lunch prepared with local ingredients, we continue to Ollantaytambo, a former agricultural, military, and religious center known for its outstanding Inca architecture and status as the best-preserved living Inca town. Visit to the monuments and transfer to the hotel. (L)
Machu Picchu
After an early breakfast, we transfer to the train station for the 2-hour journey to Machu Picchu. From Aguas Calientes, we take a 20-minute bus ride to the citadel, perched 500 meters above the Urubamba River. Our guide explains the history and myths of this extraordinary site beneath Huayna Picchu, surrounded by steep, misty cloud forest.
Return to Cusco
Later, we return by bus to Aguas Calientes, then continue by train to Ollantaytambo and by car to Cusco. Lunch is not included.
